To begin with,…

I currently teach ethics, philosophy, and theology at Andrews University. I am originally from Croatia but have also lived significant chunks of time in Germany and South Africa. As the home page has it, this site's primary focus is the theme of the craft of living. The term was a common coinage in antiquity, both as the Greek téchnê perì tòn bíon and the Latin ars vivendi.

I should add, perhaps redundantly, that the Craft of Living is pointed in scope, thematically speaking. While dwelling on questions close to my heart, the site does not represent the totality of my interests or pursuits and should thus not be viewed that way.

As for its tone, it is intentionally nonsectarian and hospitable to different walks of life. Still, “he who has ears, let him hear.”

I cannot even begin to list all the people who have influenced me on my life’s journey; the list is truly endless. And yet, there is one person to whom I owe the most. Debbie, my life companion for almost three decades now, my best friend and most faithful cheerleader, is truly a shining star in a way that is hard to express. Who I am and what I am is unintelligible from her influence. I love and treasure her beyond words.
